Amadeus has completed its $830 million acquisition of Navitaire, the former
airline services division of Accenture.
Navitaire provides
revenue management, ancillary sales, reservations and loyalty program
management for low-cost carriers. According to Amadeus, it has a global
customer base of over 50 airlines.
“This addition of
Navitaire is an important step for Amadeus, broadening our product portfolio
and know-how in the aviation industry,” Amadeus CEO Luis Maroto
said in a statement.
Navitaire will be a
business line within Amadeus’ airline information technology unit, and its
brand will be maintained. The company will now be called “Navitaire, an Amadeus
company.”
Amadeus said Navitaire’s
products and solutions will complement its Altea product for larger airlines. The two products portfolios will be
marketed and sold separately.
Navitaire’s senior
management team, including CEO David Evans, will transfer to Amadeus, as
will its 550 employees. Amadeus said it has received all regulatory approvals,
including competition clearance in the United States, European Union and
Brazil.
