Booking Holdings on Thursday said it will acquire
FareHarbor, an activities and experiences booking software provider based in
Denver.
Founded in Hawaii in 2013, FareHarbor connects tour
operators with customers online through software that facilitates bookings.
At Booking Holdings, FareHarbor will operate as an
independent business. Its management team will report to Booking.com's
leadership team.
It joins the company's other brands: Booking.com,
Priceline.com, Kayak, Agoda.com, Rentalcars.com and OpenTable.
FareHarbor's board of directors and stockholders have
approved the acquisition, according to Booking Holdings, and the acquisition is
expected to close "in the coming weeks, subject to satisfaction of closing
conditions."
"FareHarbor's technology allows local tours and
attractions to easily bring their businesses online," Booking.com CEO
Gillian Tans said in a statement. "We see an immense opportunity to
leverage this technology to bring more local experiences online, benefitting
the entire global travel ecosystem for both consumers and local businesses by
allowing them to connect instantly through a seamless digital experience."
