British Airways and Amadeus have extended their contract for 10 years until 2017.
The agreement covers BA’s continuing implementation of Amadeus’ Altea IT platform, for which BA is a launch customer. The airline already has implemented Altea for its reservation and inventory systems, which work in conjunction with BA.com and revenue management systems. The new agreement sets out the terms under which British Airways will move to the newly developed Altea solution for passenger check-in.
Further, BA has selected the Altea solution for flight departure operations, and the two parties are now jointly planning implementation of this system.
BA plans to complete migration to the full Altea range of products in 2012; the airline began the Altea implementation process in 2000.
