E-Travel Updates Booking Software

CONCORD, Mass. -- E-Travel said it now is rolling out the latest version of its automated travel booking software.

The software enables business travelers to make reservations for airline tickets, hotel rooms and rental cars from their desktop or laptop computers.

Version 3.2 of the software includes enhancements for better access to the computer network, secure access to Internet browsers and simplified administration of accounts with multiple clients, the firm said.

The new version also has a hot link to corporate travel policy, the ability to provide information for repeat trips and improved coordination of traveler- profile information, it said.

Finally, the new version is better able to incorporate preferred-vendor information, E-Travel said.

The software developer, based here, said version 3.2 will be easier to use for agents as well as travelers, travel managers and system administrators.

E-Travel president John Ackermann said, "We are continuously reviewing our growing network of customers and distributors and made these enhancements in anticipation of their needs.

"Business travelers and travel managers will find version 3.2 easier to use and more powerful, and the service bureau innovations will allow for easy, affordable deployment to ensure the technology simplifies the process for users and administrators alike."

Service bureau agreements allow travel agencies to manage the electronic reservations process without outsourcing the system to another firm.

E-Travel is used by agencies such as Travel One of Mount Laurel, N.J., to provide automated booking services for its corporate clients.
