ECommission Solutions, a provider of automated commission tracking and reconciliation services, can now capture client-specific ARC codes in order to more reliably audit each customer's travel spend and the associated commissions.
The client's ARC code is the corporate reservation service provider designation, or CRSP, introduced in May. It is available to corporations that want unique ARC numbers for tracking purposes but don't want to be full-fledged, ARC-approved corporate travel departments, according to Lauri Reishus, ARC's general manager of industry products and services.
She said that when a corporation has a CRSP number, the booking agent places that customer's unique code in the passenger name record. When eCommission Solutions captures the customer booking information from the GDS, it becomes easier to pinpoint which travel segments, and hence which commissions, are linked to that corporate client.
ARC said the CRSP identifier could be used to track commissions associated with car rentals, insurance or other trip components. So far vendors are focusing on applicability to hotels, Reishus said.
CRSP participation also provides clearer visibility of a corporation's bookings with suppliers that look to ARC identification for tracking volume, said Mike Premo, vice president of ARC marketing, sales and customer care.
ECommission Solutions will offer the CRSP identifier as a recommended option for its customers.
Another vendor, Hotel Solutions of Incline Village, Nev., a specialist in hotel pretrip analysis and hotel commission collection for corporations, worked with ARC to develop the CRSP system and in May was the first vendor to accommodate the ARC identifier in its auditing programs.
