Expedia's Blachford to head IAC Travel: Travel Weekly

NEW YORK -- InterActiveCorp named Erik Blachford president and CEO of IAC's newly formed IAC Travel division.

Blachford remains in his post as president and CEO of Expedia, as well.

Regarding his new duties, Blachford said, "The main thing I have to do is make sure the different brands all work together, rather than having any friction."

Commenting on the relationship between Expedia and Hotels.com, which has had a few adversarial twists in the past, Blachford said, "The treaty has been signed."

In other managerial developments, Karl Peterson will remain Hotwire's president and CEO when the acquisition closes and Hotwire becomes part of IAC Travel, the companies said.
