SAN FRANCISCO -- Travel Management.com created a separate brand for
its travel industry recruiting division, now called TravelJobs.com.
TravelManagement.com is a corporate umbrella for three
products, TravelStat, TravelSearch and now TravelJobs, said Charles
Brossman, president and chief executive officer.
The corporate Web site, www.travelmanagement.com, has links to all three
divisions.
The new recruiting Web site, www.traveljobs.com, serves as a tool for job
candidates and employers to access the recruiting services of the
company.
Candidates browse open positions listed in a variety of travel
industry sectors and can post their resumes. Employers can contract
with TravelJobs.com to post positions on line. Until now, the
recruiting division was under the company's corporate name, said
Brossman.
With the acquisition of the TravelJobs.com domain name "we knew
that it was time to establish this as our brand name for
recruiting. It's easy to remember," said Brossman.
The company also expanded its industry recruiting services to
the U.K. and Australia.
In other news, TravelManagement.com and Sabre have formed a
partnership, allowing Sabre BTS customers access to
TravelManagement.com's job placement and recruiting services and
its TravelSearch directory.
Sabre BTS users can access special links in the "Community"
section of Sabre BTS' eCare Web site.
TravelSearch was created, according to Brossman, as an
alternative to "mainstream" search engines that often do not
produce relevant results because "travel" is popular as a keyword
in sites that are unrelated to travel.
He said custom versions of TravelSearch will be available for
use with corporate intranets, providing links to a company's travel
program and supplier contact information.
Brossman said TravelSearch is receiving almost 400,000 hits a
month and got a boost when the influential CNET technology news Web
site added it as a directory link for travel-related content.
Brossman also disclosed that corporate agencies Adelman Travel
of Milwaukee and Casto Travel of Santa Clara, Calif. contracted to
use the TravelStat product, which is a Web-based application for
benchmarking that enables subscribers to generate corporate travel
reports that compare their confidential profile information to
other subscriber profiles.
The information can be used by corporate travel managers to give
them more leverage in negotiations or justify a decision to change
company travel policy.
Brossman said Adelman and Casto also have signed on as
distributors of the TravelStat product, selling it to their
corporate accounts.
