Travelport named Derek Sharp president and managing director for the Americas, a post vacated this spring by Travis Christ.
Sharp is tasked with "enhancing Travelport's business relationships with travel agency and supplier customers and technology partners, and holds overall accountability for the performance of the region," according to a company statement.
Reporting to chief commercial officer Kurt Ekert, Sharp also will continue to oversee Travelport's airline IT division, which he has led since late 2010 after being hired from Hewlett-Packard.
