Travel advisors using Travelport's Smartpoint desktop can now access the latest information about border closures, quarantines and other government restrictions and safety measures within their usual workflow.
Travelport announced the launch of its Covid-19 Smartpoint Plug-in on Wednesday. The tool is compatible to Smartpoint 8.2 or higher and is available free of charge. It can be downloaded from the Travelport Marketplace.
The information in the Covid-19 plug-in is provided by Sweden-based Safeture, a global travel safety intelligence provider.
"The travel ecosystem today is probably the most complex it has ever been, with government, airline and hotel policies in every country constantly changing," said Kyle Moore, Travelport's global head of customer strategy and marketing. "We're making sure our agent partners no longer need to constantly leave their workflow to search for accurate and up-to-date information -- greatly improving their efficiency in servicing their traveler customers."
