NEW YORK -- Travelweb, the online distributor of merchant hotel
rooms owned by five major chains, Priceline and
Pegasus, said May 8 it added 1,000 hotels to its distribution
network in the past two weeks.
Now more than 6,000 properties representing 90 brands have
joined Travelweb, according to the company.
Travelweb distributes rooms through third-party sites like Orbitz and Continental.com.
Meanwhile, Travelweb's board of directors elected John F. Davis
III as chairman of the board.
Davis, who is CEO and president of Pegasus, replaces Bruce
Wolff, senior vice president of distribution sales and strategy for
Marriott. Wolff remains on Travelweb's board.
