Web travel service company eGulliver is formed

Deslie Webb, formerly vice president of technology and chief information officer for Carlson Wagonlit Travel's franchise agency group, started her own Web travel service company here called eGulliver.

Webb, chief executive officer of the new company, said eGulliver will be "in total support of the agency community" by using the Internet to put consumers in touch with travel specialists.

The firm plans to start a site next year that will enable consumers to plan trips and then locate the best agency to handle fulfillment of the order, Webb said.

She hopes to have a prototype to show agents by early next year and a consumer product on the market by the end of 2000.
