The company behind the Bellagio’s dancing fountains and the kinetic revamp of the Mirage volcano has five new water-based offerings at CityCenter, MGM Mirage’s $8.5 billion complex.

The Los Angeles-based firm, WET, specializes in water-feature and fountain design creations.

The five exhibits, named Lumia, Focus, Latisse, Glacia and Halo, "demonstrate the magic that we can create with nature's elements," WET CEO Mark Fuller said in a statement. "With water, ice, light and air we have exploited this magnificent challenge given to us by CityCenter."

Lumia, visible from the porte cochere at Aria Resort and Casino features "twisting ribbons," "large arcs of streaming water" and splashes that create "water sparks" at their intersections, WET said. A fountain lit in neon colors changes color day and night.

Along the outer entrance circle is Focus, a 270-foot-long curved water wall made of highly textured stone.

Situated at the resort's north entrance, Latisse is a series of two-story-high water walls composed of thick, textured glass. Water flows down the backside of the glass. WET said it designed this feature to have programmable water flow patterns.

Crystals, the retail and entertainment district, houses Glacia and Halo. At the entrance, Glacia cools guests with pillars of ice that rise as tall as 15 feet from a pool.

As each ice monument rises, it is carved at water level into three-dimensional patterns. Colored lighting combines with the varied ice clarities to produce a unique visual experience.

Halo, the company said, "materializes as a series of water vortices held captive within clear cylinders that thrust up through the floor."

In between stops at Louis Vuitton and Gucci, it added, guests can "touch or embrace this maze of spinning water while staying completely dry."
