TERMINAL FOUR at Madrids Barajas Airport opened this spring, doubling the airports capacity and positioning it as the second-largest facility in Europe. The $7.4 billion terminal comprises two buildings: the main terminal, serving most domestic and European flights, and its satellite, serving long-haul and some European flights.  The main terminal is more than 5 million square feet and can handle 20 million passengers a year; the satellite can accommodate 15 million passengers a year in more than 3 million square feet of floor space.
