THE HILTON
WAIKOLOA VILLAGE will invest $46 million in propertywide
improvements that are scheduled for completion before the end of
the year. The Kohala Sports Club & Spa has already received a
makeover, as has the adjoining Tennis Gardens. Waterslides,
Jacuzzis and walkways will be installed or improved, Internet
access added to all existing guest rooms and three of the nine
restaurants will be renovated.
THE WAIKIKI
SPAM JAM street festival will take place on April 29 on
Waikikis Kalakaua Ave. from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Hawaiian chefs will
prepare spam dishes for the 20,000 people expected to attend the
festival.

AIRWAYS has launched a new daily flight from Phoenix to
Kona. The flight capacity is 190 passengers. The flight departs
Phoenix at 11:40 a.m., arriving in Kona at 3:27 p.m. On the return,
the flight leaves from Kona at 11:59 p.m. and arrive in Phoenix at
8:48 a.m. the following morning.
THE
HAWAIIAN INTERNATIONAL BILLFISH TOURNAMENT will take place
in Kona July 24 to 28, where fishermen from around the world
