Masters Series: Pico Iyer's Kyoto, by Mark Wexler

In a Masters Series video feature, award-winning documentary filmmaker Mark Wexler teams up with past Travel Weekly Masters contributor and best-selling author Pico Iyer to reveal a very personal view of Kyoto, Japan.

Wexler's keen eye for composition, color and movement are the perfect complement to Iyer's narration, which touches on both his interior and exterior assessment of why Japan's former Imperial capital is so special.

Wexler's films are known for their humor and originality, and include "Tell Them Who You Are," which explores his relationship with his father, two-time Academy Award-winning director and cinematographer Haskell Wexler. His other films have earned praise from the New York Times, Roger Ebert and Vanity Fair, among others.

Iyer, a critically-acclaimed essayist and author whose TED talks have been viewed more than 4 million times, wrote for Travel Weekly this past June about the relationship between travel and stillness.
