BANGKOK -- In
part to encourage recovery of the destination, which suffered from
terrorist bombing incidents in 2002 and 2005, the Pacific Asia
Travel Association set Bali, Indonesia, as the site for its Travel
Mart 2007.
The event will
take place in September or October on dates yet to be announced.
Bali was the site of the 1985 and 1989 Travel Marts and the site of
the 53rd PATA Annual Conference in 2003.
Indonesian
tourism authorities said they will use the event to showcase Balis
special interest tours, including cultural tourism, ecotourism,
marine tours and golf programs, as well as the islands natural
endowments.
