Entry regulations for the Bahamas have changed once again. The new protocols took effect Jan. 4.
The country still requires all visitors to test before entry, but it has suspended the RT-PCR testing requirement for vaccinated travelers, which was expected to take effect on Jan. 7.
Vaccinated travelers and children between the ages of two and 11 years can present proof of either a negative rapid antigen test or a RT-PCR test taken no more than three days (72 hours) prior to arrival, as well as proof of vaccination.
Unvaccinated travelers ages 12 and older must present a negative RT-PCR test result take within three days (72 hours) of arrival.
Children under the age of two are exempt from any testing requirement.
A rapid antigen test taken 48 hours into a stay is now required regardless of vaccination status. This test replaces the Day 5, rapid antigen test requirement. (Visitors departing on or before 48 hours are not required to obtain the rapid test.)
The Bahamas lists an island-by-island list of approved testing sites.
All travelers must continue to apply for a Bahamas Travel Health Visa and opt in for the mandatory Covid-19 health insurance; the cost is dependent upon length of stay and is included in the visa application fee).
