Resorts are readying their welcomes for guests arriving for the upcoming holiday season. Here's the latest batch of reopenings:

Club Med Miches Playa Esmeralda in the Dominican Republic opens Dec. 19. The low-density resort in the still-relatively-undiscovered region of Miches, northwest of Punta Cana, is surrounded by nature and spread out over 50 acres.

Club Med Miches debuted in January with four boutique "villages" with distinct concepts -- wellness, adventure, kid-friendly and adults-only -- and features a range of guest activities from treetop yoga and customized spa treatments to the flying trapeze and movies under the stars.

Park Hyatt St. Kitts, which reopened on Nov. 1, was followed  on Dec. 1 with the reopening of its Sugar Mill Spa & Sanctuary, formerly the Miraval Life in Balance Spa. The spa's design incorporates a living wall, a palm tree-lined courtyard and indigenous tropical flowers. The spa experience offers meditation and yoga classes. The facility is infused with the spa's signature mint, lemongrass and basil scents.

"We know that 2020 has brought a lot of stress and misfortune to people everywhere," said Marc Schneider, the resort's general manager. "Our redesigned spa offers a special place for guests to heal and restore body and soul."

Big Nassau resorts such as Atlantis, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, and Sandals Royal Bahamian have slated their reopening dates, but other reopenings in the Bahamas include the French Leave Resort on Eleuthera, which opens Dec. 15; Grand Isle Resort & Spa on Exuma, which opens Dec. 17; and Sandals Emerald Bay on Exuma, which opens Feb. 1.
