Barbuda next week will welcome its first cruise line since it was slammed last fall by Hurricane Irma: Windstar Cruises.

The Wind Surf, the largest ship in the fleet, with capacity for 310 guests, will make nine biweekly calls to Barbuda in the 2018-2019 season starting with a Dec. 8 call.

The Barbuda call will be on the ship's Classic Caribbean itinerary, which begins and ends in St. Maarten. The ship also calls in Roseau, Dominica; Pigeon Island, St. Lucia; Les Saintes, Guadeloupe; Basseterre, St. Kitts; and Gustavia, St. Barth.
