French Leave Resort expands: Travel Weekly

The French Leave Resort in Eleuthera, Bahamas, has officially joined Marriott's Autograph Collection and expanded from four to 12 villas.

Eight of the villas are one-bedroom oceanview cottages, two are two-bedroom oceanfront units and two are one-bedroom oceanfront units.

The name French Leave is coined from the British expression meaning to escape without notice.

The resort sits at the southeast corner of Governor's Harbor and features the 1648 restaurant, named for the year when English settlers first came to Eleuthera.

Rates at French Leave start at $379 per room, per night, double.
