It's been a heady year for Island Routes Caribbean Adventures, one that is ending on a high note befitting the company's "Live Funner" motto.
The Jamaica-based tour company, a division of Sandals Resorts International, held its first Island Routes Certified Partner Conference in September, which brought together top tour providers across the Caribbean; captured the World Travel Award as the leading Caribbean attraction company on Dec. 2; and launched 90 new tours, including its foray into the Mexican Caribbean with six tours in Cancun and its first owned and operated tour called Let's Go Native: Kingston City Tour.
Now in its seventh year of operation, the company offers more than 500 certified tours in 17 resort areas in 12 destinations across the Caribbean.
New offerings in the Dominican Republic include a Saona Island catamaran cruise, priced at $105 per person, a Punta Cana sunset catamaran cruise at $64 and a shark and stingray adventure in Punta Cana for $76.
Grenada clients can explore the rainforest and waterfalls on a dune buggy tour for $130, while ATV exploring and horseback rides are available on a tour in Jamaica for $165.
There are now shopping tours along the Hip Strip in Montego Bay for $20, a heritage tour in Turks and Caicos for $98 and a speedboat excursion in the Bahamas' Exuma Cays for $248.
"When we started life as a small outpost in Montego Bay in 2009, no one could have foreseen the great strides we've taken," David Shields, vice president of sales, said earlier this year.
"Our motto is about positivity and making the most of every moment. If our guests are having the time of their lives, so are we," he said.
Tours are geared to solo travelers, families, incentive travel groups and everyone else who wants to (for example) get muddy on an ATV safari tour in Negril, reef fish in Turks and Caicos, walk the plank on a Jolly Roger lunch cruise in Barbados and zip through the treetops in St. Lucia.
Island Routes has tour desk services for Sandals and Beaches resorts and for the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara properties in Jamaica.
All tours are commissionable and can be booked online at islandroutes.com.
