As is often the case with new hotels in the Caribbean, the
opening date of the luxury Silversands Grenada on Grand Anse Beach has been
revised as the property is still under construction.
The resort, originally slated to open this spring, will have
a soft opening in mid-summer, followed by a three-month season of previews,
according to Jorge Collazo, director of sales and marketing.
"During the preview period, only part of the hotel
facilities will be in operation while we train our employees and work on
perfecting all of our services. Our goal is to start accepting reservations as
a fully operational hotel for Nov. 1, 2018," Collazo said.
The resort, the first major hotel project on Grand Anse
Beach in more than 25 years, will offer 43 suites and nine residential villas
with beachfront and hillside views.
Silversands features minimalist design, open floor plans, a
300-foot-long infinity pool, two restaurants and a sleek spa with four
treatment rooms, a sauna, hammam, pool and fitness center.
As part of the resort's commitment to supporting the island's
community and culture, Silversands will partner with the Grenada Network of
Rural Women Producers (GRENROP) to source the majority of its fruits and
vegetables for its two restaurants and will commit to a monthly purchase
guarantee to assure financial stability for the women.
