Windstar Cruises' Wind Surf sailing ship will undergo a first phase of renovations this November in Cadiz, Spain, emerging on Dec. 21 with refreshed suites and public spaces.
The ship will feature Broadmoor and Sea Island suites inspired by luxury resorts The Broadmoor in Colorado and Sea Island in Georgia. Both resorts -- and Windstar Cruises -- are owned by the Anschutz family.
The Owner's Suite will be the new name for the Officer's Suite (aka Cabin 501). It is the only public accommodation near the officers' quarters. Following a renovation, the suite will have "an elevated nautical look."

Many public spaces will have new layouts, furniture, wall and floor coverings, lighting, and custom art.
Windstar says the Wind Surf's lobby will be a "more welcoming location that's better able to serve guests with additional seating options, plus an updated and fresh (yet still nautical) vibe akin to a boutique hotel." There will be a larger retail area "reminiscent of a luxury brand store's shopping experience."
The ship's Compass Rose restaurant will feature "modern décor with pops of blue and orange" and a new multipurpose stage area for live music.

Amphora, Wind Surf's main dining room, will have a new design concept drawing from elements of the sea, such as pearls, smooth stones and sea glass, which will be integrated into new architecture and furniture details. The complementing color tones were inspired by the horizon at sunset. New seating arrangements include curved booths to seat two to eight people and larger dining chairs.
Windstar said the pool deck and pool bar will feature natural colors, conveying a beach scene. New tiling on the two whirlpools will take the form of ocean waves.

During Wind Surf's second phase of renovations, to be completed in December 2026, staterooms will receive new furniture, soft goods and décor. Also, there will be updates to Stella Bistro, Veranda and the fitness studio.
All of Windstar's three Wind-class ships (Wind Surf, Wind Star, and Wind Spirit) are undergoing redesigns and updates as part of a multiyear initiative. The Wind Star has already completed a first phase of improvements, with a second slated for April 2026. The Wind Spirit's first phase occurs in April 2026, the second in March 2027.
