With Valentine's Day falling in the midst of the Diamond Princess quarantine, passengers are publicly thanking the crew for what they describe as heroic, amazing and tireless efforts to keep their spirits up.
One Twitter user posted a Valentines Day drawing her son made for the crew.
Another earlier this week posted a photo of a note she put on her door thanking the crew: "Today I was reminded how tirelessly the crew are working on this ship," the post said.
Twitter user Tehya thanked the crew for bringing a card game and "a little light to my day. Small things like this really do make a difference!"
Aun Na Tan called out members of the the kids' club staff, which "has been by again to see how my daughter is doing and drop off her care package."
There was also more praise for the food, which many passengers said has been very good. And a special Valentine's Day menu was being prepared for the evening of Feb. 14.
Many passengers also applauded Princess for saying that it would give the crew all gratuities and two months of paid leave after the quarantine. One Twitter user retweeted a video message from Princess' executive vice president Rai Caluori and tweeted about the crew, "They are working so hard for the guests quarantined on #DiamondPrincess in Japan. Above and beyond."
