Hornblower Group, the parent company of American Queen Steamboat Company and Victory Cruise Lines, has acquired its day-tour partner, Shore Excursions of America.

In a press release Wednesday, Hornblower said the acquisition will expand its land excursion portfolio while also creating a more seamless booking process for agents and consumers.

"Integrating Shore Excursions of America's experiences was a strategic investment in the long-term success of Hornblower Group and demonstrates our continued commitment to the future," said Hornblower CEO Kevin Rabbitt.

"It was the logical next step in the organic growth of our overnight cruise division with American Queen Steamboat Company and Victory Cruise Lines."

Based in Easton, Penn., Shore Excursions of America was founded in 2011 exclusively to fulfill the needs of American Queen Steamboat Company and Victory. Its principal and co-founder, James Palmeri, and the rest of the company's management team will retain their roles following the merger, Hornblower said.
