Aqua Expeditions is adding a second riverboat on the Peruvian Amazon and a refurbished coastal ship that it said will be the first long-range expedition-class yacht to be permanently based in the east Indonesian archipelago.

The Aqua Blu will be the company’s first coastal ship. The superyacht was once a British Royal Navy coastal survey vessel before being converted to a cruise ship in the 2000s. Aqua partnered with yacht designer Cor D. Rover to refurbish the ship formerly known as the Titan.

The Aqua Blu will begin service on Nov. 16, offering year-round departures. The company said it will primarily serve three destinations – the Raja Ampat Islands, Bali-Komodo National Park and Ambon and the Spice Islands) -- on seven-night itineraries. It will also offer a limited number of special 12-night itineraries to different destinations.

The Aqua Nera is a newbuild, 15-suite luxury boat scheduled to begin service on Aug. 1, 2020.

Aqua Expeditions currently operates the river cruise ships Aria Amazon on the Peruvian Amazon and Aqua Mekong on the Mekong river in Cambodia and Vietnam.
