The Carnival Inspiration began year-round sailings from Long Beach, Calif., on Dec. 19, offering three- and four-day cruises to Ensenada and Catalina Island.
The 2,052-passenger ship is replacing the Carnival Paradise, which accommodates the name number of passengers and was redeployed to Tampa earlier this fall.
The Carnival Inspiration joins the 3,006-passenger Carnival Splendor, which operates seven-day Mexican Riviera cruises from Long Beach.
