Carnival Corp. suffered a data breach in April and is notifying millions of guests that their personal information may have been compromised.

Thus far, the affected data is known to include names, government ID numbers, birth dates, addresses, email addresses and phone numbers. The breach affected nearly 6 million people, according to the Office of the Maine Attorney General.

Carnival is giving impacted individuals two years of free credit monitoring through TransUnion. Those with questions about the incident can contact a dedicated call center at 1-844-593-8310.

The attacker gained access to Carnival's IT system by deceiving an employee, according to Carnival.
