Gratuities are increasing at Carnival Cruise Line, and so is the price of the soda package.

Come April 2, daily per-person gratuities will increase by $1. This is the first price adjustment to gratuities in three years, said Carnival.

Daily gratuities are currently $16 per person for standard staterooms and $18 for suites, so the new rates will be $17 and $19, respectively.

"Our shipboard team members work hard to provide exceptional service, and the friendly, welcoming and outstanding work of Carnival crew is widely recognized across the industry and amongst our guests," a Carnival spokesperson said. "We believe our guests will agree this slight increase is well deserved."

The Bottomless Bubbles drink package for unlimited soda, meanwhile, is rising from $9.50 to $11.99 per day, excluding the 20% service charge. Carnival said its transition to Coca-Cola products last year has led to increased supply costs.
