Carnival introduces drinks package: Travel Weekly

Carnival Cruise Lines has been testing a single-price package for alcoholic beverages on one of its ships this month.

Guests on Carnival Victory have been able to buy a package for $42.95 per person, per day, plus a 15% gratuity. It covers beer, wine and mixed drinks priced under $10.

Under the terms, if one guest in a cabin buys the package, all other adults in the cabin must also buy the package.

Those who buy the package get a 25% discount on drinks priced above $10 (wines by the glass, beers and individual cocktails), Carnival said.

Passengers can sign up for the package in the ship's atrium and casino bars, as well as a bar within the main pool area.

“My Awesome Bar Program” has been available since the Victory's Aug. 5 sailing.

Other cruise lines, including Celebrity and Royal Caribbean International, already have similar drinks packages on at least some of their ships.
