DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Carnival Cruise Lines will be the first
cruise company to enable consumers to pay for their cruises through
automatic payroll deductions.
Genesis Travel, which described itself as a payroll-deduction
company, will provide that functionality for Carnival.
Passengers won't be using tax-free monies and employers
presumably won't be providing matching funds, but this kind of
thing could catch on.
Genesis Travel CEO Simon Reynolds said that "for people who
don't have the discipline to save, don't have credit worthiness,
this is going to be a viable option. This is an easy way to plan
for a vacation."
National Leisure Group's The Vacation Store will process the
program's reservations through a call center.
