MIAMI -- Carnival Corp. & plc is selling its A'ROSA German-marketed cruise brand and consolidating its German operations.

The A'ROSA brand and three 200-passenger A'ROSA river ships will be sold to Arkona.

Carnival said the sale -- with the price set at the net-book value of assets on Nov. 30 plus about $864,500 -- should have no financial impact on the company.

A'ROSA's ocean-going vessel, the A'ROSA Blu, will transfer into Carnival's AIDA fleet, which is aimed at a younger, contemporary German market.

In addition to the AIDA fleet, Carnival also operates the Costa Marina, a Costa Cruises ship, exclusively in the German market.
