Celebration Key, Carnival Cruise Line's private destination on Grand Bahama Island, has earned a certification for being supportive of visitors with sensory sensitivities, such as autism.

At the port, visitors have access to complimentary sensory bags, which include noise-reducing headphones, fidget tools and glasses that block bright lights.

More than 400 employees on the island are trained to support guests with sensory needs, Carnival said. The sensory bags include a lanyard that guests can wear, which signal to employees that they may have sensory needs.
Carnival also offers the bags onboard the ship.

The new certification was awarded by KultureCity, a nonprofit that focuses on sensory accessibility. Carnival has partnered with KultureCity for six years to make adjustments to its fleet and destinations to better support guests. In 2019, it was the first cruise line to earn a sensory-inclusive certification.

Shipboard staff and land-based call center staff have been trained through the KultureCity partnership.
