The third ship in Celebrity Cruises' Edge-class will be larger than its sister ships and include Daniel Boulud's first restaurant at sea and the brand's first Aqua Class suites, in addition to other enhancements.
Celebrity CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo unveiled the Celebrity Beyond during a Zoom presentation with several of the ships' architects, designers and star collaborators who include Boulud and Gwyneth Paltrow, who was named Celebrity's Well-Being Advisor and will introduce experiences and products from her Goop line.
The Beyond will be different in several ways from sister ships the Celebrity Edge, launched in 2018, and the Celebrity Apex, which was delivered in 2020 and will sail this summer in Greece. First of all, its size: The Beyond will be both longer and taller than its predecessors, allowing for the redesign of areas such as many of its outdoor spaces, and for 179 additional cabins.
The Beyond's main open deck will be 40% larger than other Edge-class ships, and the Rooftop Garden will have more seating and new private nooks in the area, which offers movie watching and live music. The outdoor Rooftop Grill restaurant will be larger, and two new pools will cantilever six-and-a-half feet over the side of the ship.
The ship's Retreat, a ship-within-a-ship area for suite guests, will have a new, two-story sundeck with secluded cabanas. The Retreat's private restaurant, Luminae, has been moved to the front of the ship and been given a new look.

The Beyond's aft-located Sunset Bar was redesigned by Nate Berkus into a space that is almost double in size than on the other Edge ships and has cascading terraces and "conversation niches and covered enclaves" to enable guests to gather more privately.
The Beyond will feature Boulud's first restaurant at sea, the 50-seat La Voyage by Daniel Boulud, with a menu based on the region where the ship is sailing. Boulud said the restaurant would be "grounded in the DNA of my French roots; but at the same time, it's going to be very adventurous."
New to the brand will be AquaClass SkySuites that will offer wellness amenities as part of the partnership with Paltrow. Staring with Celebrity's return to service, all AquaClass guests across the fleet (excluding Galapagos sailings) will be treated to onboard wellness offerings, including fitness kits from Paltrow's lifestyle brand, Goop. Paltrow and Goop will also curate onboard wellness programming and participate in the line's new Women in Wellness initiative.
The ship's atrium, the redesigned Grand Plaza, will span three decks on the Beyond, larger than on the other Edge ships. Celebrity said it will have an an airier atmosphere with more room for intimate seating. The Martini Bar has been moved to the center of the venue as a full, circular bar.
"With Celebrity Beyond, we saw an opportunity to take the extraordinary features of Celebrity Edge -- like the focus on the connection with the ocean and the grand spaces -- and really amplify them," Richard Fain, chairman of Royal Caribbean Group, parent company of Celebrity Cruises, said in a statement. "We focused on providing more openness, height and spaciousness throughout the ship's most popular spaces. The end result is a next generation ship that embodies the intersection of architecture and design."
