More cruise lines resumed service in Europe this past weekend, with Oceania Cruises and Crystal River Cruises both setting sail for the first time since March 2020.
Oceania's Marina became the first ship to sail for the line in 524 days. It is also the first cruise ship to sail from the port of Copenhagen since 2019.
The ship will visit ports in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Finland prior to concluding in Stockholm. The Marina will then spend the remainder of the summer and autumn in Western Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Greek isles prior to setting sail for Miami, where it is scheduled to arrive Dec. 1.
Oceania's next ship to resume sailing will be the Riviera, which is set to launch in the Greek isles on Oct. 18. The Insignia will restart from Miami on Dec. 21. The rest of the fleet resumes sailing in 2022.
Crystal River Cruises returns
The Crystal Ravel departed Aug. 29 from Vilshofen, Germany, on a Danube cruise while the Crystal Debussy left Aug. 30 from Basel, Switzerland, to sail the Rhine, both on weeklong itineraries.
The Ravel will call in Germany, Austria and Hungary, overnighting in Vienna and Budapest, and cruising the Wachau Valley. The Debussy will visit Switzerland, France, Germany and Netherlands and overnight in Amsterdam and Koblenz, Germany.
This year, Crystal River Cruises will offer 32 sailings ranging from seven to 11 nights on the Rhine, Danube and Moselle rivers.
Crystal's ocean cruise ships launched earlier this summer form the Caribbean and Iceland.
Both Oceania and Crystal require all guests and crew to be fully vaccinated.
