Disney Cruise Line on Wednesday christened the Disney Adventure in Singapore, where the ship will be the line's first to homeport in Asia.
In Disney cinematic fashion, the ceremony included a performance by a 23-piece orchestra and Australian-Korean singer Dami Im against a backdrop of digitally projected Disney visuals.
The ship's godparent, actor Robert Downey Jr., called Adventure "the perfect name" for the ship. Incoming Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro was also there for the festivities.
The 6,700-passenger Disney Adventure is the cruise line's eighth and largest ship. It will sail three- and four-night cruises from Singapore with no destinations, only sea days.
Entertainment unique to the ship includes a Lion King-themed fireworks show narrated by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. The Adventure is also Disney's first ship with a roller coaster, Tony Stark's Ironcycle Test Run.
The ship features seven themed areas, such as San Fransokyo Street, an area inspired by the film "Big Hero 6" that serves as a passageway to the teen and tween clubs, the movie theater, shopping areas and the Big Hero Arcade.
Another of the seven themed spaces is Wayfinder Bay, a pool deck inspired by "Moana."
