Environmental activists immobilized the Zuiderdam in the port of Kiel, Germany, for six hours on June 9, according to German media reports.

Protesters approached the ship in small boats from the sea, with some standing on the ship's bulbous bow.

The protesters attached a climate change banner to the side of the 1,916-passenger ship.

Police temporarily detained 46 people, allowing the ship to leave port by 10 p.m.  The ship was on the last day of an eight-day Baltic cruise roundtrip from Copenhagen.
