Delivery of Explora Journeys' first ship, the Explora I, has been delayed "by a few weeks," according to the new luxury line owned by MSC Group.

Explora declined to say when it expects the ship to be delivered from the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.

The line offered few details about what led to the delay except to say the Italian shipbuilder and MSC agreed to "make further enhancements" to the ship that would extend the ship's stay for "a few weeks." The delivery ceremony had been scheduled for July 6.

Explora had originally planned to debut in May 2023 before its first ship's maiden cruise was rescheduled to July 17. It is unclear when the inaugural sailing will be.
