Tour operator G Adventures has acquired the Swan Hellenic brand and plans to restart cruises in 2018.

Swan Hellenic and Voyages of Discovery ceased operations in January with the collapse of the cruise lines' parent company, U.K.-based All Leisure Holidays. G Adventures did not acquire any ships, just the brand.

Toronto-based G Adventures called Swan Hellenic "a 60-year-old pioneering U.K. cruise line and respected name in the boutique cruising sector."

"Our long-term aim is to re-launch Swan Hellenic and re-establish the award-winning values that make it so well-loved," said John Warner, G Adventures' vice president of global sales.

Itineraries will be announced this summer, G Adventures said.

Before All Leisure Holidays went under, G Adventures acquired All Leisure's tour operations, Travelsphere and Just You.
