Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line has chartered the Grand Celebration to assist with the restoration of service to communities impacted by the gas explosions in Massachusetts last month. The ship will house workers who are repairing and replacing the gas pipelines.

The line's other ship, the Grand Classica, is taking over the Grand Celebration's cruise schedule for October and November.

Bahamas Paradise pledged to "do our best to accommodate as many travelers as possible on remaining October and November sailings."

It marks the second time in as many years that the Grand Celebration has been chartered during the fall. Last year, it was chartered to FEMA for hurricane relief housing in the Caribbean.
