Haimark Line said that its Saint Laurent cruise ship is due to arrive on Tuesday at the Verreault shipyard for hull repairs. The ship was damaged last Thursday when it collided with a lock wall in the St. Lawrence Seaway in Massena, New York.

Haimark said that the June 26 departure from Quebec City was canceled, but that it is optimistic that the July 5 sailing will operate. The June 26 cruise was sold exclusively to the French market, said Tom Markwell, Haimark’s managing partner of sales and marketing.

There were 274 people, including passengers and crew, aboard at the time of the collision, according to the Coast Guard. Thirty people were removed from the ship due to injuries last Thursday. Of those, 28 were released from the hospital and returned to the ship, the Coast Guard said.

All passengers were removed from the ship Friday afternoon and transported by bus to Montreal.
