Holland America Line plans to steer clear of Tracy Arm Fjord in Alaska this year, canceling plans to cruise the 27-mile fjord.

A landslide in the area on Aug. 10, 2025, caused a tsunami, and the U.S. Geological Survey warns that it is still hazardous. The landslide originated above the toe of the South Sawyer Glacier.

"Steep, mountainous landslide areas are inherently unstable and will continue to change for years following an initial landslide," the USGS wrote in an Aug. 14 report. "Continued rockfall and smaller-scale landslide events from the exposed landslide scar are expected and could impact the water, potentially causing future local tsunami."

Instead of visiting Tracy Arm, Holland America Line will do scenic cruising in Endicott Arm, which includes a visit to Dawes Glacier.

Representatives from Carnival Cruise Line, MSC Cruises and Royal Caribbean International said they do not have itinerary updates to share at this time related to Tracy Arm.
