Holland America Line's ship under construction for delivery in the spring of 2021 will be called the Ryndam, the fourth HAL ship to carry that name.

The 99,500-gross-ton, 2,666-passenger ship is the third in the Pinnacle class, which began with the Koningsdam and continued with last year's Nieuw Statendam.

The first Ryndam was part of the Holland America Line fleet from 1901 to 1929, starting as Rijndam before receiving the English spelling in 1923. The second served from 1951 to 1973, and the third from 1993 through 2015, when it became P&O Australia's Pacific Aria.

HAL is one of the few cruise lines to extensively reuse names from the past.
