Lindblad Expeditions will resume service in Alaska and the Galapagos in June with sailings open to vaccinated adults and children 16 and under who test negative for Covid-19.

The company will operate six- and eight-day itineraries on two ships in Alaska: the 100-passenger sister vessels the National Geographic Quest and the National Geographic Venture, with the first departures June 5 and June 6.

The Galapagos cruises will begin on June 4 with 10-day itineraries on the 96-passenger National Geographic Endeavour ll.

Sven Lindblad, CEO of Lindblad Expeditions, said the company spent the past year "examining every single aspect of our operation to be prepared to operate in the 'new normal.'"

He said the company had met with health and safety experts and authorities in the regions it intends to operate in "to ensure we are welcome and meet or exceed their expectations."

Key components of its health and safety protocols include two negative Covid-19 tests, daily guest temperature checks and thorough sanitation protocols.

Lindblad joins at least three small-ship cruise lines planning to sail in Alaska this summer. Meanwhile, several companies have been operating Galapagos cruises since the fall.
