MSC Cruises said it will resume sailing two ships in the Mediterranean in August.
The cruises are open to European travelers only, while the rest of its cruises,
including all Caribbean sailings, remain suspended through the end of
October.
The company said the MSC Grandiosa and MSC Magnifica will welcome guests from Europe's Schengen zone beginning Aug. 16 and Aug. 29, respectively, under the company's new health protocols, which include Covid-19 testing of all guests and crew.
As part of the newhealth and safety protocols, passengers will not be permitted ashore on port calls unless they are part of an MSC shore excursion.
Sailings from the United States to the Caribbean are on hold through the end of October under the voluntary suspension of U.S. sailings by all CLIA members. Likewise, the company said its other Mediterranean sailings and Far East cruises have been canceled through October.
