Norwegian Cruise Line said that after a detailed evaluation and consultation with authorities and experts, it will resume calls on Hawaii's Big Island next week.

Earlier this week, NCL said its Pride of America ship would skip regular calls at Kona and Hilo because of the persistent eruption of the Kilaeua volcano.

Instead, a second stop in Maui was scheduled and a call on another Hawaiian port was extended.

Norwegian said that it will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation.
