MIAMI -- Norwegian Cruise Line converted 1,460-passenger Norwegian
Majesty to its "Freestyle Cruising" concept, designed to offer
guests a "more relaxed, resort-style cruise," with open-seating
dining and extended hours in the ship's main dining rooms and
alternative restaurants.
Freestyle Cruising was launched in May on NCL's newest ship,
Norwegian Sky, and NCL will extend the concept to all of its ships
by the summer of 2001.
Norwegian Majesty's conversion was completed in late August and
tested on subsequent sailings.
Freestyle Cruising features also include a "resort casual" dress
code, increased staff levels, an automatic tipping system and
easier disembarkation.
Norwegian Majesty cruises weekly from Boston to Bermuda through
Oct. 22, after which the ship will offer three- and four-day
Caribbean cruises.
