Chernesky had been senior vice president of North America sales since joining NCL in 2023.

His promotion comes a day after Marc Kazlauskas entered the role of NCL president. Kazlauskas arrived at NCL after a decade of executive leadership for travel agencies Frosch and Avoya Travel.

Commenting on Chernesky's promotion, Kazlauskas said, "Bringing our sales organizations even closer together -- while delivering meaningful wins for advisors -- sets us up for strong, sustainable growth as we enter our next era."

Chernesky’s promotion also follows NCL's recent decision to eliminate the noncommissionable portion of fares, a move applauded by travel agencies. ASTA and agency leaders have urged other cruise lines to follow NCL's lead.
