NCL Corp. appointed CFO Kevin Sheehan (at left) as president of the company, effective immediately.
NCL told its employees in an internal memo that its current president and CEO, Colin Veitch, would continue as CEO and that Sheehan would become president and CFO.
"Today, NCL is more than double the size it was when Colin Veitch became president and CEO, and is preparing for the largest growth surge in its history with the arrival of two F3 ships in 2010," the memo said.
"In splitting the roles of president and CEO, NCL intends that Kevin, as president, will assume a broad range of responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of the business and Colin Veitch, as CEO, will concentrate on corporate strategy, new building, and a variety of longer term projects for the further development of NCL, both domestically and internationally."
Sheehan most recently spent two-and-a-half years consulting private equity firms. Before that he spent nine years with Cendant, where he was chairman and CEO of Cendant Corp.'s Vehicle Services Division, which includes the Avis and Budget car rental companies, PHH Corp. and Wright Express.
Before that, he was CFO of Cendant Corp., and prior to that served as president and CFO of Avis Group Inc.
