Norwegian Breakaway's spa to feature salt room: Travel Weekly

Norwegian Breakaway spa salt room renderingThe latest detail to be released by Norwegian Cruise Line about its Breakaway ship: a two-story spa.

About 23,000 square feet on the Norwegian Breakaway will be devoted to its spa and fitness center.

Norwegian said the double-deck spa will include a salt room in a dramatic grotto setting meant to alleviate respiratory and skin ailments. It will be the first one offered on a cruise ship, Norwegian said.

The fitness center will include a spinning class in a room with neon graffiti art lit up by black lights, and a first-ever interactive fight training program called Nexersys.

Acupuncture, teeth whitening and cosmetic medical treatments such as Botox wrinkle reduction will be offered in the spa.

For men, the ship will offer a full-service barber shop that offers haircuts and traditional warm shaves.

The Breakaway enters service in April, sailing Bermuda cruises from New York.
